What a result means.
This planner calculates three indoor arrangements for one or two adult-sized bikes. Bike Nook Turbo is listed separately as a candidate: fit not yet verified. It separates known product exclusions from estimated room fit. “Worth checking” means no modelled constraint failed; it is not verified compatibility.
- Worth checking
- No modelled constraint failed. You still need the listed product, contact-point and real-world movement checks.
- Ruled out by your inputs
- At least one recorded space, handling, drilling or product constraint failed. Read the reasons before changing anything.
- Fit not yet verified
- The Turbo candidate lacks enough evidence for a calculation. It is separate from both the positive and ruled-out counts.
Our layout assumptions
- Floor stands: each lane is the larger of the bike’s widest point or the drawing’s verified 45 cm rack width, plus 10 cm. Depth is the larger of bike length plus 10 cm or a provisional 56 cm rack allowance. Height is the larger of bike height plus 10 cm or the drawing’s 55.4 cm upright height. The 52.4 cm length shown in the folded view is not treated as loaded depth. The manufacturer FAQ differs from this item-specific drawing; the full loaded envelope remains an estimate.
- Wall racks: each lane is the bike’s widest point plus 15 cm. Depth is the taller bike’s height plus 15 cm; height is the longer bike’s length plus 15 cm. Wall pivoting is not modelled. No Turbo footprint or loading calculation is supplied while its dimensions remain unresolved.
- Two-bike tower: width is the larger of the longest bike’s length plus 10 cm or 92 cm. Depth is the larger of widest point plus 20 cm or 61 cm. Height is at least 215 cm and the sum of bike heights plus 30 cm.
- Loading: floor and wall arrangements use the larger of stored depth or bike length plus 30 cm, then add your standing-room allowance. Towers use the larger of stored depth or widest point plus 30 cm, then add standing room.
- Rotation turns the entire stored-plus-loading envelope. Your reserved front strip is added separately.
These are conservative planning heuristics, not manufacturer-certified loaded dimensions. Angled storage, handlebar interleaving, actual turn paths and obstacles are not simulated.
For floor and wall layouts, lane widths are added across the selected bikes. References to bike length, height or widest point in a shared envelope use the largest applicable measurement; tower height uses the sum stated above. Rotation swaps the full stored-and-loading width and depth. The reserved strip is then added to room depth.
The 10, 15 and 30 cm allowances are our modelling choices, not manufacturer clearances. Dimensions displayed in result summaries round upward to whole centimetres; comparisons use the underlying values.
Evidence and exclusions
Each product card links its manufacturer evidence and review date. Bike Nook Original has been retired from the shortlist. Turbo requires its own footprint, load and seat-post evidence before it can receive a calculated result. It does not inherit the Original’s dimensions or exclusions. Velo Cache uses its current product page’s 18 kg per-bike rating because a manufacturer article gives a higher figure. Its support page confirms the bare stand dimensions; the model rounds them up to 92 cm wide, 61 cm deep and 215 cm high before applying the separate loaded-bike allowances. RAKK 2.0 uses the published 75 lb limit, converted without rounding for comparison.
Manufacturer specifications can change. Check the exact model, manual and any required adapters. Wall strength, fixings and installation are outside this tool.

Cost estimates
No live prices are supplied. Your unit quote is multiplied by the number of required racks (one tower, otherwise one per bike), then your extra costs are added. Include all delivery, accessories and fitting costs. Prices and availability are not verified.
A missing or invalid price produces no total for that product. An over-budget result is flagged separately; it does not become a physical-fit exclusion. A £0 budget means no budget limit.
What you must check in person.
- Whether the exact bike can load, park and unload without contacting an obstruction.
- Whether either bike can be removed while the other remains parked.
- Whether the rack’s contact points suit the frame, tyres and fitted accessories.
- Whether the surface, wall and any fixings suit the product and its installation instructions.
The top-down diagram is a simplified envelope. It does not simulate door swings, wall-rack pivoting, angled storage, handlebars overlapping, turning paths or individual movements.
Bikehaven compares a small documented shortlist. A negative result does not prove that no storage product could work in your home. Use the measurement guide to check the inputs or assess another space.
